Karla Dawe is a counselling psychotherapist registered as a practitioner with the Nova Scotia College for Counselling Therapists and with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She was originally trained in Addictions Counselling (HSAC, 2004) and then trained in Counselling (M.Ed (Counselling), 2012) with an emphasis in bereavement, child & adolescent, career and addictions counselling. Over the years, she added to her skill set by pursuing training in such methods as Logosynthesis, Trauma Informed Approaches, Critical Stress Group Debriefing, Transactional Analysis, EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples), Reiki Therapy.

Karla values clients diverse backgrounds, world views, life experiences and regards them as unique and capable of healing individually in mind, emotions, and relationships. She takes every opportunity to engage people by adjusting her approach to the needs of each client. She works with children & adolescents (6-18), individuals, families and couples for a variety of concerns that people bring to therapy - including addiction, bereavement, relationship, trauma, bullying, anxiety, depression, anger, career difficulties and life decisions and transitions. She sees the various levels of difficulty as a way to learn about self, change patterns that are unwanted and grow to your full potential.
